Year 3
Welcome to Year 3
We aim to make the first year at Whiteheath Junior School an enjoyable experience that pupils will remember an exciting introduction to Key Stage 2 learning.
Educational topics include studying The Stone Age, The Bronze Age and Ancient Egypt. These topics often culminate in workshops and themed days where children take part in activities to enhance their learning. Our geographical learning includes Climate and Weather, Our World and Coasts.
We have a varied range of Design and Technology topics, including Pneumatic Toys, Structures and making cushions. Lots of artistic opportunities are offered through work on cave paintings using charcoal, pastels and paints, as well as representing Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics. We make papyrus scrolls and investigate botanical art which links to our Science units on Plants in the Summer Term.
This is an extremely enjoyable year for the children and it is wonderful to see them growing into more mature and independent members of the Junior School.
