Class Energy Monitors
Every class elects their own Energy Monitor to represent the views of the class and present these in regular meetings. During meetings Energy Monitors discuss ways to improve waste, recycling and litter in and around our school.
Energy monitors also host termly assemblies to discuss and raise awareness of current local and global environmental issues.
Energy monitors have taken part in assemblies on ‘Plastic Pollution’ and ways to reduce and recycle our plastic waste. We have organised school litter picks, ensured that recycling bins are in every classroom and promoted others to recycle and re-use paper.
Energy monitors will also be taking part in termly projects. Autumn term is ‘Switch Off’ Fortnight, where energy monitors will be making sure that light switches are turned off in classrooms when not in use.
