Find below a selection of activities for each subject. There is a range of written, creative and ICT based tasks to choose from.

 

Maths

  • CPG revision books – work through the allocated date – mark at home to check for understanding (star areas where they will need further support).

  • Reading (Fiction and Non-fiction) – work through 2 pages a day (6 pages per genre) alternating once completed a reading genre

  • Prepare a poem by heart to perform to an audience. Think about volume, pace and actions.

SPAG 

  • Work through Spag.com that has been set up by teachers

  • CPG revision CPG revision books – work through the allocated date – mark at home to check for understanding. Star areas that need support with.

  • Purple mash spellings consolidation areas

  • Description of a setting – literacy shed. – choose an image to describe in detail. Use all the techniques

Geography

  • Watch the programs about the coastlines (BBC bitesize) 

  • Write spoof newspaper articles describing the dramatic effects of erosion and weathering on the east coast of Holderness.

  • Research different methods of reducing coastal erosion, highlighting the effects on the environment.

  • Create an information poster/leaflet to present your findings  

 

Science

  • Research a famous scientist of your choice. Write a diary from that scientist’s perspective, imagining how it would have felt to be working towards a discovery and one day achieving it.

  • Research: What is Light? How does it travel? What is reflection?

  • Create an information poster/leaflet to present your findings  

  • Create an investigation to identify how light moves throughout the day.
