Year 3

Find below a selection of activities for each subject. There is a range of written, creative and ICT based tasks to choose from.

Maths

  • The children have been working on measuring length in class.  At home, please ask them to use a ruler or tape measure to measure items, ensuring they are doing this accurately.  They should be measuring in mm, cm and m.

  • Get cooking! Bake or cook a dish that requires measuring and weighing in grams, ml, litres and maybe kilograms.

  • Begin to practice telling the time with your child on an analogue clock, concentrating on o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to the hour.  This could include asking them to tell an adult when it is 3’oclock as well as reading the time.

  • Continue to practice timetables every day, asking your child to recite the number sentences for 2’s, 5’s, 10’s, 3’s, 4’s and 8’s.  They could write this down or do it verbally.  The children could also practice these on TTRS
